Meet Elle Gargano: Founder of Brave The Label, the Loungewear Brand Tackling Mental Health Issues

Elle Gargano – the Founder of Brave the Label – is a walking billboard for strength, courage, bravery, and inspiration. Her brand Brave the Label isn’t just a chic loungewear brand; it’s a lifestyle, it’s a community, and it’s a voice for all of those battling mental health illnesses. Oh, and the pieces she creates are every bit as well-made and comfortable as they are inspiring.

Elle’s passion for mental health advocacy stems from a deep, personal relationship with her own mental health journey. On October 1, 2017 Elle was injured in the Las Vegas Route 91 Music Festival mass shooting where she was shot in the back of the head.

Since the incident, Elle has undergone three different brain surgeries and has had to rebuild her confidence to go back out into the public. Elle says,  “Since the incident, I’ve been healing, learning about trauma, brain injury and mental health. When I see someone wearing Brave the Label, I feel a sense of pride and a sense of healing – for myself and for the person wearing our brand. I want wearing Brave the Label to be a reminder that you have bravery within you bigger than you could ever imagine.”

On every piece of Brave the Label clothing, you’ll find little reminders of your own inner brave. The pieces are all sustainably packaged and made right in Los Angeles, California. They are designed to be worn comfortably but also chic enough to be worn out for a casual night out.

In addition to the mental health statements made with each piece, Brave the Label donates 10% to support mental health. Currently they are supporting The Loveland Foundation Therapy Fund, which provides financial assistance to black women and girls nationally seeking therapy.
