Recipe by @sweatysweetpotato

Sunshine, warm weather, and a cool drink in hand – that's what we're all craving right now, right? This flavorful twist on the classic lemonade adds a touch of spice from the ginger and sweetness from the honey, making it a truly delightful summer drink.

The Benefits of Ginger

Beyond adding a delicious kick, ginger brings some health benefits as well. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, ginger can also help soothe a sore throat or ease nausea. So, this lemonade isn't just refreshing – it's functional too!

Ready to Make Honey Ginger Lemonade?

Here's what you'll need to make 3 servings:

  • 4 large lemons
  • 1/2 cup fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 1/2 cups water, divided
  • flaky salt and mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by making the honey ginger syrup. Add 1/2 cup water, the honey, and the ginger to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer, and allow to simmer for 15 minutes (stirring regularly).
  2. Remove the syrup from heat, transfer to a jar, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a pitcher or large jar, juice 3 lemons (slice the 4th for garnish in the glasses) and add the remaining water.
  4. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the ginger honey syrup over the pitcher. Stir well to mix the syrup, water, and lemon juice together.
  5. Add a couple lemon slices to glasses, fill with ice, and pour the lemonade over top. Garnish with fresh mint and a sprinkle of flaky salt.
  6. Enjoy!!
